my network adapter is already built into the PS2, and has room for a erthnet cat-5 cable, do i just plug the cat-5 into the back of the PS2 n plug the other into the back of my wireless router (4 ports, 1 controlled by pc, 3 open)? n then should it work?

Yeah that is the idea. You might want to reset your modem and router by unplugging them and plugging them back in after you have your ethernet cable plugged in. After you do this you should be able to just turn on the PS2 and everything should work.

Yes. You will need an updated network disc from Sony. You will have to register and they send it out to you for free.

Takes less than a week usually.
