Naming your child after some historical figure is actually a pretty good idea. He or she may get curious about the origin of their name and start to do some research. It would be a bad idea to name your offspring after a person who is viewed negatively by the society whether past or present.

no I do not think it good children after roman emperor's is an OK idea, your kids would have lived up to his name.

I read in an article that boys should not be given strange names for their psychological health, but it's your child and it is America so you are free to choose.

i believe that one should give their children meaning full names ie names that would affect their lives positively and not negatively. very careful thought should be given when naming your kids becos names affect ones behavior, potential success and destiny

I think it would depend on what the name is. Caligula or Nero NO for example.
