The umbilical cord is attached to the placenta. After you deliver the baby, the uterus continues to contract, expelling the placenta (also known as the afterbirth). The umbilical cord (attached to it) comes out also.

It's attached to the placenta so when your dr, tells you to do one more push after the baby is out and the cord has been cut from the baby then the placenta comes out with the other end of the cord attached.

umbilical cord is the attachemnt between your placenta and your baby and enters the baby at belly button and once the baby is born the cord is clamped and the baby is freed, than the other end of the umbilical cord is still attached to the placenta so when the placenta comes out , the rest of umbilical cord comes out infact the physician or the midwife delivering , woudl put gentle traction n the cord to deliver the placenta

well it is attached to the placenta and after the baby is born you will deliver the placenta it takes about 15-30 minutes they say most women don't even remember delivering it. The contractions aren't as strong as birthing contractions.

It's attached to the placenta, which you basically give birth to after you birth your baby (sometimes it's also called afterbirth).
