Yup, I do it all the time. By closing my eyes, I keep my focus on the music, rather than allowing myself to be distracted by the world around me. This is even more so important for worship songs... it allows me to focus on the lyrics and God

Classical, when I meditate. Kid Rock, when I'm feeling rebellious. John Prine, when i want to get in touch.
Classic Rock, when I want to re-live. All these I close my eyes and remember who I am, the experience is always to the fullest. Plus a little dancing around. Peace to you.!!!!

Oh heck yea! That is me to a tee. That may be the only time I can shut my mind off, and have the rest of the world just fade away. Get lost in the music...

No! My headphones do that for me, I can create any sound and location I want. I can even hear what the music sounds like if I were psychotic or on drugs (which I'm not!), or in the forest, any part of the house, or concert hall, auditorium, etc.

Only when I'm alone and there are no witnesses.
12 inch or 14 inch speakers are required to get the full effect of great music.

Absolutely! (Which is NOT advisable when you are driving! LOL) When I listen at home I lay on the bed and close my eyes and try to put myself in the song.

Yes...and let my mind go where ever it wants to. I did this exercise in a philosophy class once and like it muchly...I keep doing it when I hear piano music. I am Ginger Rogers at those times.

I do that usually when I'm listening to Native American flute music. It's easier for me to get carried away and forget life's problems for a while...it's so relaxing!
