I was on the depo shot for three years and i never did bleed either in those 3 years but when i stopped taking the shot my periods returned that next month and i got pregnant in a year. I had regular periods after coming off the shot though. You will remember your periods once they start coming back.
Go to http://www.deposhot.com for more info
and when you start trying go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating.
Good luck

Trying To Conceive After The Depo Shot Of all the advances in modern medical technology, the invention of chemical birth control has been the most detrimental to women. This shot, taken only 4 times a year, is supposed to stop the ovaries from producing/releasing an egg. Doctors often tell their patients that the shot is safe and effective and normally not harmful to the reproductive cycle. The fact that a woman should receive the shot every three months does not mean that fertility can be restored within 3 months. The average from women who have had the shots, is at least 18 months before they can conceive. The chances of having a miscarriage are greater due to the fact that the reproductive hormones are greatly affected by the shot causing an imbalance. Also, conceiving too soon after the shot, or right before the shot, can cause birth defects in the baby. This is why the doctor will give a pregnancy test before giving the shot. The key to restoring fertility after the Depo shot lies in stopping the shot and never getting another. If you’ve had the Depo shot in the past 6 months, I recommend taking a couple of months in cleaning out your body, to rid yourself of the harmful chemicals before trying to conceive. Try a liver cleanse and/or a colon cleanse (you can purchase these from health-food stores). You don’t need to try to conceive while doing these cleanses, which normally takes one month. These cleanses are a series of herbal and vitamin pills which act to clean the toxins out of the body. Get serious about drinking water. Water is nature’s perfect cleaner, and will clean out the inside of the body if you drink the optimal amount daily (8-10 glasses). Also, boosting fertility naturally will increase the chances of a healthy, drug-free conception. Look into evening primrose oil, Vitex, natural progesterone cream, vitamin B6 to name a few of the good fertility boosters. Be sure to take these at the appropriate times during the cycle to benefit you best.

Your period will start again after you stop the depo shot. My daughter was on Depo for 4 years prior to getting pregnant. She started her periods within 4 months of stopping.
You probably want to consult with your OB/GYN about stopping the shot and using other birth control until the Depo has left your system. At the same time you can ask these same questions for a professional answer.

I was on the depo for 2 years in 2003-2005. I didn't have any periods either but when I got off of it my periods did return within about 4 months. I am now 9 months pregnant. It took me about 10 months to concieve though. You should get your period back before you get pregnant. Try not to worry about it.

I have heard so many bad things about women taking the shot and then trying to get preggie and it took them FOREVER! It doesnt take everyone along time but most it does. You should first go off the shot and then wait a couple months before trying to let your period become regular again. Dont go off it and then start right away or then you wont know if your preggie cuz u wouldnt have missed a period yet.

Your period will come back once you stop taking it. Everyone is different so you never can tell how long it will take, or how long you will bleed. I took depo for 5 years before I got off it, but I took the pill to regulate my period, then stopped the pill when I was ready to conceive. Good luck!

If you want to get pregnant next year, I would get off of depo now. Some people it takes up to a year after getting off of depo to be able to become pregnant sometimes longer because of how depo messes you up.
