A thesis statement is a short description about what you are writing about.

A thesis statement is usually a claim you make in writing academic essays, which you support with other relevant information.A thesis is always found at or almost at the end of the introductory paragraph.A thesis is always underlined.
Ex......".MacDonald is a good place to eat because it serves deliciuous, affordable and healthy foods."
This is a claim i have made so i have to support it with evidence/something like reasons. It is almost like stating your points for a claim.NB* A thesis statement becomes a fragment when it is not written in a complete sentence{you must include a verb to make a good complete satement}*A thesis statement must never be put in a form of question.
I hope you can understand my point somehow.Good luck.

A thesis statement represents your own point of view and tells the reader what the body of your essay is about. Here is an example of a thesis on a paper I wrote on licensed practical nursing:

Licensed practical nursing is an exciting and challenging field of study that requires physical and emotional stamina. While investigating this career, I had an opportunity to explore the major tasks and responsibilities of this job, the projected demand for qualified workers and the opportunities and potential drawbacks of this career.

Notice that the paragraph expresses my point of view. The last sentence tells the reader what the 3 main points or body of the paper will be about.

The thesis states the purpose of your paper; it introduces the characters, and your ides about the topic. The thesis should be the second to last sentence in the first paragraph.
