Do you think there will be a break between the moderate and liberal democrats? The election of 2006 brought on moderate dems, something that I'm proud of it because I'm a moderate but I know that there is Pelosi, Kennedy, and other liberals that will probably disagree with the new dems on key issues. Could this happen? Or are liberals going to be smart and move to the center permanently?

G,
I do take stands on important issues. I'm pro-choice, against illegal immigration, for death penalty, anti-gun control, and favor tax cuts. Moderates are not fence sitters.

I think Dems will rally around the important issues which apply to all. I'm a moderate Dem and I haven't seen extremes in the party. I think the "radical liberals" you hear about on radio talk shows are largely figments of the conservatives imaginations.

I believe your assesment is correct. The problem with the Republicans in this election is there was a split between the economic and social conservatives, resulting in many Reps leaving the Republican party. I think there will always be tensions between the more moderate and the futher left/right of either party as long as they have more power to themselves, and lack of a common enemy, per say

I don't think the moderates will fall in behind the old liberal leadership.
