The water you are seeing is a result of the catalytic converter doing its job. It takes the carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, NOx and other combustion byproducts and turns it into CO2 and H2O.

For every gallon of gasoline burned, there is an equal amount of water produced.

AS far as the backfiring and bogging down, that could be a tune up problem, blown head gasket, all sorts of things.

Water comes out of the tail pipe when the pipe is cold (sitting outside) and the warm exaust air moves through it... causing condensation.

there is in a good number of cases a small hollow below your muffler, that is to allow condensation from exhaust gases/warmth and humidity to drip out, that is well-known. that is conceivable for it to now and again get clogged up... ordinary fix.

when your car is cold water is OK, but after it warms up white smoke and water is not , keep an eye on your coolant if it keeps going down with no obvious leaks it could be burning it

If your car runs okay, and it only does it at certain times-then that is normal. If your car runs ragged and smokes and misbehaves a little-then probably a head gasket.

MOSTLY HAPPENS IN THE MORNING AFTER CAR HAS SET OVERNIGHT AND IS CONDENSATION BUILT UP IN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, SHOULD BURN OUT IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES....IF YOU HAVE WATER OUT THE TAILPIPE AFTER CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN, AND IS WARMED UP, YOU HAVE SERIOUS ENGINE PROBLEM.

it means you catalytic converter is working. the "cat" helps to reduce the amount of pollution your car puts out by dissolving it in the water vapor produced by combustion in your engine
