Bacteria die when they are subjected to higher temperatures. The only thing that can survive in really high temperatures(around 100 C) are organisms from the Domain Archaea...extremophiles.

Most bacteria cannot withstand temperatures greater than 50 degrees celcius or so, except the specialized bacteria located in fissures and such.
