Divided government is not such a bad thing! It restores the Checks and Balances mentioned in the Constitution. A President has to reach out to the opposition Congress and vice versa.

Some of the best Presidents lived with a Congress in the opposition; think of Reagan, Truman. It's forced Presidents to reach across party lines to pass legislation; again, think of Reagan & Tip O'Neil or Clinton & New Gingrich.

As for one party controlling everything, well......Just look at George W. and Jimmy Carter.

Actually nothing much was accomplished during the Regan and Clinton years. If you expect a problem to be solved by government, you can forget about it. Will anything change in Iraq, Afganistan, the war on drugs, immigration, abortion, the next Katrina like disaster? No. If there is another terrorist attack on the U.S., you can forget about a response there too.

Weve been divided for 3-4 years now, furthermore, we don't need Bush to get things done. He can take orders for awhile, hell it's time the lazy jerk got some work done. Plus he needs to get an attorney to defend him, it ain't over til the twirp hangs.

I absolutely agree. I don't know what all the fuss is about either. I was elated to know we actually had BOTH parties equally represented. Maybe we'll get something done now. Be more productive. The ONLY way it's not going to work is if either side decides to "take their ball home and not play anymore!"
Thanks for pointing this out to everyone!

You have a point with your comments. However, all these pundits have their opinions and some of them think we'll have gridlock -- but I bet we see some "horse trading"

One party controls The Presidency and the Senate, and the other owns the HOR. They both play partisan politics and not do what is the will of the people.
