Sorry you're bitter ANGEL I know what you're going through but I come back for more because I ultimately trust that I will be happiest that way with the one right girl

I gave up waiting for my partner to propose,so i done it.
We've been together now for eighteen years, and married for ten of them.
Every time i hinted i wanted to get married,he always had an excuse.
So New Years Eve 1995,in a club full of people, myself along with quite a few others,we all asked our partners to marry us,and finally i snared him.
We were married in August `96.

I suppose most people think the man should ask, but there's nothing wrong with the woman doing it, either. If my husbandhadn't asked me when he did, it wouldn't have been long before I'd have asked him. As far as rings go, we got ours about a week before we were married, so that's not even a necessity to get engaged, either.

Proper thing is the man ask the woman, not them ask you. Why are you wanting to get married it seems you just want something to do. You better wait don't you think, until the right one comes along and ask them.

Women can ask men but it's not completely common yet. Sure, some women have proposed but it's much more common and traditional that a man does.

I would make a strong suggestion after a certain period of time that we get married, but I wouldn't "propose". My husband didn't "propose", we just kinda decided to get married, and started planning for the wedding.

Its also been tradition for the guy to pop the question... some women do pop the question, doing it yourself makes you into a better husband. If you want a wife you have to put pep in your step. :3

It depends on the relationship; if you've been together long enough and things are good, sometimes you just decide as a couple that you want to marry.

This is definately something thats up to the guy. Would you be more 'shocked' or overwhelmed if a girl asked you? You wouldn't want the moment to be ruined by total shocked.?.

ive been with my babys father for 6 years, we have thought about it, hes asked, but i worry it could change our relationship, plus id rather go on a criuse with the amount of money you would spend. But i would feel no way of asking him if i wanted to marry, why not!
