Just wait and see how soon she starts that investigation! She has the power and can't wait to use it!

I think so. The Democrats really don't stand to gain anything by impeaching Bush. Dick Cheney would become President, which wouldn't bee seen by them as much of an improvement. Plus it would give the Republicans the opportunity to bring in a new, popular Republican as Vice President (McCain, Giuliani, etc.) who could potentially use the office to get a head start on an '08 White House run.
I also think the Democrats would rather see Bush in there sweating it out and just generally bringing down the popularity of the national Republican party. Look at what happened in Connecticut with the impeachment inquiry against John Rowland (who ultimately resigned). He was hurting the popularlity of the Republicans in Connecticut, but then his Lieutenant Governor, Jodi Rell, took over and she became hugely popular mostly because she was being compared to Rowland. She was elected to her first full term in office by a huge margin Tuesday, despite the fact that Connecticut is a Democratic leaning state.

Clinton was impeached as he should have been, and the Senate should have convicted him and removed him from office for perjury, and dereliction of his duty as President.
Bush has done nothing illegal. He has followed through on intelligence given to him that had been done by other people from other countries, as well as from CIA. All of this flap over him violating the Constitution is a bunch of bulls##t, these people are not only enemy combatants that have been captured on foreign soil, but they are not American citizens, so why would American law apply to people who are not American citizens that are not even located on American soil.
Any attempt to impeach Bush with absolutely no legal basis would look like exactly what it is, an attempt to avenge the impeachemnt of Clinton, which had all kinds of legal basis.

Yes, I hope so. And I think so. We've gone through 6 years of polarized government and an impeachment would just divide America more. Like the 100% politically motivated impeachment of Clinton, which, after all was NOT about lying, although he did, but about the hatred the GOP had of Clinton.
And your comment about "handlers" needs a rebuke. Pelosi can think for herself. Unlike Bush in 2000 who was put in by the mullahs of the GOP, Pelosi has a will of her own.
So no impeachment; don't waste our time and money on this. Anyway, it will never, ever work.
Let's have something new. A government that works and listens to everyone.

That's the first intelligent thing I've heard a Democrat say in several days!!! She might just have some common sense after all. I've read about her. She seems like she's got her head on straight and won't let the hate filled Dems run things. They couldn't have made a better choice.
As for impeachment, this is one smart lady. She knows that you can't bring charges against someone who hasn't broken the law. (That's all impeachment is. Clinton was impeached, just not removed from office because he DID break the law by lying under oath.)
I just hope she does what she is supposed to do, which is oversee and control sessions of the House.

They want bipartisanship. They can't afford to act like leftists and start impeachment. Pelosi hates Bush but she is ready to work with him and doesn't have any plans of investigating anything.

She is an evil and vindictive woman, just ask any of the non union employees that work on her vineyard. You might need an interpreter to get answers though. She might be guilty of harboring some illegals as well. Time will tell as she steps into the spotlight.

I don't know, but I can tell you this! The people who voted on Tuesday want him impeached and her 1st act of taking that off the table might hurt her!
People want Bush impeached!! Period! I guess we will wait and see!
Perhaps a lot of that is up to Bush! If he maintains his stubborn stance and tunnel vision, he may just get impeached!
If you can try and impeach a sitting president if you are a Republican for something that happened outside the white house and had nothing to do with Clinton's presidency, I don't see how the Republicans could justify the Democrats not going after Bush! The Republicans spent 100 MILLION trying to get Clinton impeached, hiring a special prosecuter! For 5 words!!.
Personally, I want him impeached! He can't tell the truth, and he is the sneakiest behind -the -back person I have ever seen!
And to the one above!! NO PRESIDENT has ever been impeached, including Clinton! The Senate recommended it but he was never tried! Bush lied to Congress, not Clinton. His was in a Civil trial and had nothing to do with the presidency!

Excuse me... the Republicans attempting to impeach Bill Clinton because he couldn't keep his zipper up is revenge.
Investigating probably criminal actions is not revenge - it's apply the US legal system to all of it's citizens.
Btw, only a Republican would twist Pelosi's words into a promise that she did not make. Sorry folks, the Dems are saying they won't go on a witch hunt - that's different than saying they won't follow the law and investigate significant violations accordingly.
