NO, but there is a solution to world hunger, and a very educational one at that.
The poor and the homeless here should be SOLD as food, for very reasonable prices, mind you, to the impoverished peoples of the world, thus teaching them the value of money and hard work while you're at it. I am sure the UN would be delighted with the idea, and the people with UNICEF would be glad to be of assistance for once in their lives. The very poor and homeless in the countries that matter should be shipped over -already freeze dried, as common courtesy dictates- to the countries that don't really matter quite as much, (come on everyone, you know what I am talking about here....) where they could nourish whole families for an indefinite period of time, if done properly. Given the success this method would have, I suggest that in order to keep the food coming the same should be done with the comatose and the terminally ill, especially kids; they shouldn't have to suffer like that if they could be helping other kids fill their empty stomachs.

You can't really ask a question like that and not start something, you know? You don't know any of us, so that's an unfair question. I came from a family of 15 children, and I "know" what hunger is! I know what it's like to go without enough blankets to stay warm. We had to wear old ragged clothes to school & kids made fun of us all of the time. Most of the time we didn't get Christmas presents, and if we did, it wasn't a toy. My first birthday party was when I was 16 years old, and it was given by a school class mate. I am 50 years old now, and I "still" go to peoples houses and donate food and whatever else they may need because they are poor. I also dress up as a clown for childrens hospital, and bring them toys and make a fool of myself for those kids. "I" of course have a blast doing it. I don't think hunger is a happy thing at all. Do you?

This question should be reconsidered. I do not act like I am happy that there are people that go hungry.I help by giving money for them to be fed. It can depend on the ones that are hungry. In the inner city there are many addicted to alcohol and other substances, and food is not on their priority list, but the alcohol or drug they abuse may well be.There are numerous agencies and Churches that take care of the indigent. And they are supported by the very people, that you say act like they are happy.Could they be happy that they are able to help?

I really hate the fact that there are starving people in the world. in this day and age people neednt be starving there is plenty of food(what about the so called food mountains)? some of it gets destroyed which is sick as it could be given to help these people.

Also there are too many greedy rich people out there ie the starving countries government- thats how they stay rich isnt it? and fck the rest of you.

All people are entitled to a reasonable way of life - a nice home, food aplenty and fresh drinking water.

DANG! You don't have much hope in people do you? Many people try to do something about it everyday, but the stupid political factions of many starving countries hold the grain in storage to make the people follow them. They are afraid that if the people have food and are happy they will no longer be dictators of that country. Get a clue!

And what are you doing about it?

I help others AFTER I have helped myself.

There is no point in me handing over all my cash to a group that feeds people overseas if it ends up in me starving or going homeless myself. And what about helping the people in my city first?

I give of my time when I can, and help people out in other ways. You carry the heavy bags for someone who is struggling, you give tourists correct directions, you give the homeless person a sandwich instead of coins (that's also how you tell if they are actually homeless. The ones begging for cash for cigarettes/alcohol/drugs aren't interested in food). When your friend is between jobs and literally has no money, you bring them to your house and cook them dinner. Things like that.

I am not. I give as much as i can. But that is a drop in an ocean. I wish the Money spent on arms and armies if spent for feeding the poor we can run a world company of labour for any job.

How do I act like it? If you are able-bodied you can work and earn money for food like I do. I will help any organization that keeps children from going hungry. I don't have much sympathy for able-bodied people.

Give to a food bank every month (we have for the past 15 yrs), donate time and money, and work hard so that you yourself are not going hungry.

Then come back when you are all grown up and ask an intelligent question!
