The best book I've read when it comes to reading for fun is a book called The Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind.. very good book, and there is a whole series... Seriously, this book will keep you reading for hours, I once spent an entire day reading it just cause I couldn't put it down.. and read the book in 3 days, about 479 pages...

Here is what it's basically about:
Wizard’s First Rule stars a young man by the name of Richard Cypher, a single young woods guide. Richard lives in an area of the fantasy world known as Westland, separated from everyone else by a dangerous magical boundary that prevents anyone from passing through it. On the other side of the boundary lie many sovereign nations, jointly known as the Midlands, and the large empires D'Hara and The Old World. Richard works as a woods guide leading important political figures through dangerous forests, while his brother's interests lay entirely in politics.
Richard is naturally compelled to investigate the mysterious murder of his father when he happens upon his destiny, a woman Kahlan Amnell, who he helps keep from being murdered by a group of four men known as a quad.
After saving Kahlan’s life, it is revealed that Kahlan has somehow come through the boundary and is now searching for the First Wizard. Richard feels that this woman is in need of protection and takes her to the only man he can trust, his best friend, a friend who had helped to raise him: Zedd.

I just told you a preview, but that is only like 10 chapters, the books gets even better and I dont' want to ruin it for you.. anyways, just check out the author on Wikipedia and see if it interests you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Goodkind

Read a required reading book like Uncle Tom's Cabin, a Mark Twain book or Last of the Mohicans. In your educational career, you will be asked about these books a dozen times. The sooner you get it under your belt the better! Even in college, they will hit you up on these books. The Scarlett Letter is another one that appears on every entrance exam known to man. Don't waste your time on popular fiction if you are headed for college. Even science fiction classics by Ray Bradbury appear on the tests. Best of luck to you!

I love very old books and particularly like roman historians who wrote about the wars and lives of roman soldiers. These are some of the greatest books ever written and because you can place yourself in a different time in history and our progress in technology has all evolved from the greek and roman soldiery. These books are way over 250 pages and are more factual than fictional, but facinate me more than fictional books because it is reading pur history.

Tactitus history is one of the greatest books ever written.
