Right now I feel like I'm drowning in monthly bills, and the most expendible expense is the $50 a month for my directv account. I'm thinking about stopping it for a couple of months, but I'm not sure I can... not that I'm a TV addict, I don't watch it that often, yet it's nice to have when I want it.
Do you live without TV?

I could only live without cable television if I was broke, and if I was broke, I would easily live without it. Just watch basic television; rent a dvd once in a while, and visit your friends for televison! Good luck. No television in the world will alleviate the stress of drowning in bills. Kick directtv to the curb...and good luck.

I have no TV...and it's great! I spend time reading or doing other things that I enjoy and are mentally stimulating.

I had cable a few months ago...I started watching maybe an hour a week, then two...before I knew it, I was watching like 4 hours a night. It's so addictive. But I stopped missing it very quickly after it was gone.

I think that would be a good way to save some money. You can always get it back later.

at first it might be difficult but after a short time you don't miss it. We got rid of it because I could not justify paying as much as I was for 70 or more channels with nothing on them
My husband gets the tv during football season , but after being a tv addict most of my life, after having lived without it so long, it is not difficult to live without it now. I am grateful because while so many children I babysit and come in contact with are addicted to the television, my children rarely ask to watch tv, even when it is on, they will go play outside, read a book or play a game- they have very little interest in television .

well i have a tv but i hardly watch anything on it. tv is actually unhealthy for our society since it makes a lot of people very stupid and can influence young people to live unhealthy lifestyles. media like the tv causes anorexia, crime, war, and a lot of bad things. well it might not cause war but u get the picture. plus it can even cause obesity since some people watch tv, eat, and don't think about eating. and i'm sure it won't hurt to live without it for a couple months as u said.

No I must have TV but not all the time. What I really can't live
without is Closed Captioning. I have no idea what they are saying if I don't have closed captioning on. Plus, with CC I can
understand Boomhower and the kids on South Park.
