Why just the western provinces?

Quebec already thinks they are their own country

Ontario is the centre of the universe.

Easterners don't give a damn. They're just too damn friendly...especially Newfoundlanders...

There is. It's called "provinces," which oversee all questions of education, health and municipalities, and which have income tax powers and a constitutional voice.

Though not quite as powerful as EU member-states, Canadian provinces are arguably more powerful than the central government.

Canada is one nation, and the EU is made up of seperate nations. Huge difference.

Canada could allow the states to have some sort of semi-automony. And give the states more freedom to run their own affairs.
