I know you are not going to say the truth...that Congress was corrupt and did not care enough for domestic issues, and was too stagnant when it came to foreign policy.
So how else do you explain the elections?

Because the people currently in office aren't true Republicans. They have personal agendas and many are puppets for someone else with lots of power and/or $. Republicans believe in self government; how do you explain the no child left behind law? That's nationwide. There are so many other things I don't even know about. Also, Bush is hypocrite. He claims to be a man of God and prays and that is part of what helps him do his job. I believe Church and State should be seperate, his religious beliefs should be interfere with his decision making for the US.

They didn't want the Republicans to lose. Or, rather, that should not be why they voted as they did. If that was all the reason for their voting, this past election, then I will be more right than even I care to be, that the media controls who rules, not the people.

Instead, I believe that the People voted for a change.

There IS stagnation. But, it doesn't end with the Republicans. When a politician can be elected for more than 20 years, consecutively, it's a clear signal that there is something either very right about the person, or totally wrong. I believe I remember Joe Biden being in the Senate, when I was in middle school, in the 1980's...

Corruption... I think there is enough in both sides for us to drop this pretense, right here and now. Remember Gary Hart? Or that Duke guy? There is enough mud and ammunition to turn it into a neverending insult-fest, on both sides, so let's drop the pretense of being holier-than-thou, politically. I ask this as a person registered outside of the D's and R's. It sickens me to watch grown people devolve into schoolyard idiots.

there were enough borderline Republicans that believed the Dems were being more conservative. The middle will always go with the more conservative.
