If Lamsquarter is so nutritous why can't we buy it in the grocery store?

Because it is a native plant, not familiar to the european settlers.
It is very good and easy to grow. Get some started, let one or two go to seed, and you will have plenty. Only the younger leaves, the older ones tend to be tough. White eyes don't know what he's missing.

Probably because it is something that grows wild and isn't cultivated. It used to grow wild on the road leading to my house when I was a kid. My Grandma and I would take a walk and she'd cut some and cook it for me, I loved it! I was really surprised to see your question, every time I ask someone if they know what lambsquarter is, they look at me like I'm nuts and say they never heard of it before.

Try a speciality store. Like trader Joes or Bristrol Market.

We used to pick that too! Also Poke and Doc. Those things have got to have more vitamins and minerals than anything we can find in the store. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
