It means you ain't gonna hug some guy who has his hands ready to grab your boobs

I think it means...
Let's say there's a guy and girl. They are or were friends.
One of the two would greet the other with a handshake. The other might greet the other with a hug.
The one who would offer a handshake is assuming the other person doesn't like them in any way more than just a friend. The one offering the hug, when offering a hug, shows to the "assumer" that their assumption was wrong. The "assumer" should reject their assumption and hug the other person instead.

open arms reject assuming hands meaning that the assuming hands always think that the open arms are always going to be there no matter what happens, kind of like your girlfriend has open arms for you until you cheat on her and you go back because you think she's always going to be there for you, but she rejects you

Open hands is a metaphor for an open mind having no predetermined prejudices and welcoming all as members of the Family of Humankind! Assuming hands hold back and approach all with caution and suspicion which is an attitude that a truely compassionate person rejects!

The assuming hands are the people who expect something that they take for granted. It is saying that if you just assume that you are going to get something, you shouldnt, becuase those open arms could reject you. Even the kindest or open people have their boundaries.

I think open arms stands more for acceptance and understanding; totally prepared to give all you can. while "assuming hands" is merely just knowing it...like you think "alright fine"
this is a pretty good quote. notice Arms imply something more open, and complete. while hands imply less, and perhaps not as important

Just my interpretation here, but...

I think it means that people will do good things for someone out of the goodness of their hearts, but if the act is "expected" by the receiver, then maybe the giver won't bother as the act loses it's value. I might decide to share my candy with you because I feel like a nice person, but if I know you think that I owe you a share of the candy just because you want it, I'm less likely to give it to you...Know what I mean?

I take it to mean people who assume about others will most likely block an embrace, but people who have open arms do not make such assumptions.

well..people who assume a lot are often 'close' minded....jumping to conclusions and not thinking things through. so maybe it means that the person will only accept the other in his/her life if they do not assume or excpect too much out of the relationship too soon.

assuming hands might mean like thinking that you can touch that person, like the quote could mean something like you reject unwanted touch

I am open to you as long as you don't assume that I want more than I do.
