does anybody out there know if it costs anything to post something for sale on craigslist or ebay?

Except for help wanted ads in some big cities, craigslist is free.
Ebay charges to list and then a percent of the sales price, once the item sells.

It doesn't cost a thing on craigslist, plus it's nice and easy. The problem is it's not very secure. You have to meet the seller in person or have them wire money, which can be dangerous. I prefer ebay, which I think is free (but not 100% sure, never tried to sell anything), but more secure. You need to have a credit card for validation, though, to make sure not just anybody registers. I would strongly recommend ebay over craigslist, if that helps!

well on ebay it does, but craigslist is free.
