I enjoy provincial health care. We still pay for prescriptions and stuff, but the visit to the doc is free. (well not free in the sense that we pay out the bum for taxes! lol)
I like our warm summers and white Christmases (although I HATE snow)
I like how we are viewed as "the nice guys". Not entirely true, but in gerenal I suppose it is.
I also love our "mosaic" society and our multi-culturism.
And I love Canadian jokes. They make me laugh =)

I love Canada! I'm a Canadian that now lives in Boston. I love our national healthcare system...it's not perfect, but it works. I hate how in the U.S. I have to pay each time I see the doctor. I love our multiculturalism....I think the "mosiac" model is better than the "melting pot" model...where you are expected to assimilate into American culture and give up your own. I think Canadians are much more in tune with the rest of the world. The poor in Canada has better social programs and will at least be able to see a doctor. Many in the U.S. cannot afford medical care.
In Canada, we get 1 year of maternal leave...here it's 3 months only. I could go on and on....

In addition to the things already mentioned, Canadians have a good tolerance for other cultures and lifestyles: for example, we have legalized same-sex marriage, and the RCMP actively recruits women and minority ethnic groups. Sikh's in the Mounties are permitted to wear their turbans.
It is a kind society, and there are many social programs to help low-income people obtain better jobs and housing. There are also initiatives to help individuals write a business plan and start their own business. (Of course we do pay lots of taxes to fund all of this, but it creates a more fair society). The kindness is also found in the ordinary people. Most of them are happy to help a stranger with a problem: for example, when all flights were grounded on 9/11, the people of Gander, Newfoundland (a tiny town with a large international airport) took the stranded passengers into their own homes (for free) until the planes were allowed to fly again.
We are proud of our country, but can still laugh at ourselves. The tv comedy programs "Royal Canadian Air Farce" and "This Hour Has 22 Minutes" make satire upon politicians, celebrities, etc., and have even included guest appearances by real prime ministers, cabinet ministers, etc: they're pretty good sports, eh?

Free healthcare, the drive to legalize marijuana, the idea of a tossed salad instead of a melting pot, true freedom of speech. Also the Canadian government really takes care of it's people. I had my son when I was 16, and continued going to school, as a result I had to stay on welfare. I wouldn't have made it to college if it weren't for that.

It's a very clean country; hardly any slums. Good health care system for EVERYONE and freedom to choose own doctor. No insurance companies controlling patient care. Less poverty than in many countries. And we can kick out bad governments without having to wait for their terms to expire. Also great cultural diversity.

for the previous reply, how easy is it to see a doctor? Do you have a choice of whom you want to see? How long is the wait...be honest.
