I need to know the empirical and molecular formula of methanol (CH3OH)

That is the empirical formula..It cannot be reduced any further.

The empirical formula is just the simplest ratio of elements in a molecule.

eg the empirical formula for glucose (C6H12O6) would be CH2O since the ratio is 1:2:1

in methanol the molecular formula IS the empirical (CH3OH) since the hydroxyl group (OH) is a molecule in its own right.
