Hmmm, we did buy Louisianna and Alaska... and we did kill off the natives throughout the west... and we did have a war with the south to make them stay in the union... I just don't think Americans would like the outcome of an Iraq 51st state national election... ha, and I'm pretty sure Iraqi's have no desire to become a US state.

The insurgents did campaign pretty hard for the demos and now they expect the dems to keep their campaign promise:

"The vote shows the Iraqi and American people are of one mind about withdrawing U.S. troops," said Falah Hassan Shanshal, who leads the parliamentary bloc of radical anti-American Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

"We hope the Democrats don't forget their campaign promises. If they don't, we will deal with them in a brotherly way once the last American soldier pulls out from Iraq," he said.

I don't think they want that. Anyway they are too busy trying to get the Americans out of their country and oil fields to worry much about the musical chairs in the land of the lard.
