Since 'superstitions' and the 'religious' experience have a scientific basis, it will take thousands of years to get rid of genes in the limbic system of the brain. Obsolete genes do not die overnite.

In a short answer, these genes are remnants of our Cave man past when man lived in a hostile and unknown universe. The survival instinct caused the so-called 'god-gene' to be developed. Modern man, however, relies on the more recently developed cerebral cortex (the thinking, logical and rational part of our brains). The last remnants of our reptilian past will take awhile to be eliminated.....the current count is that 10% of the earth's population (ie, the atheists) have realized the Objective Reality, however, the remainder still abide by the old superstitions....

ok- first- religious characteristics are inherent in many ideologies and many ideologies are not religious. People would still go to war because of ideas about life, people would still be part of society, people would still believe in right and wrong- just because somebody accepts moral relativism does not mean they immediately start enslaving their neighbours and procreating with their children. Morality is not borne of religion- as one can evidence; * Historically. eg. Hammurabi's code was a legal framework that informed and long predated Deutoronomy and Leviticus but was not jewish in origin). * Rationally. eg. humans are social animals and require each other for survival, and thus will set to establish safe, prosperous and lasting conditions- government is merely an expression of this desire. * Empirically. You'll find amongst charity, social service and other low-pay altruistic professions- like for example in the Red Cross, scores and scores of secular humanists and atheists- all working towards what they believe to be the greater 'good'. Religion- or belief in God- will not leave this world a bang but with a whimper.

It will never happen so don't try. I give here a quote by a Roman statesman who lived before Christ:
"Nature herself has imprinted on the minds of all the idea of God"
It is as it was then as long as you are alive in the world and don't have all knowledge you will wonder and try to explain that wonder. To gain all knowledge is impossible.

idk, but im pretty sure theres no such things as religious superstitions. really only religious beliefs...... so if u mean beliefs, then i dont think its possible. Let's compare this to something historical. Hitler wanted to kill all Jewish people in the Holocaust. He failed because there were people on different continents and in hiding. Even one of the most evil men failed to eliminate what he didnt like. This is like trying 2 wipe out belief. You'll never be able to destroy it completely because there will always be someone else whose trying to save it all.... they might be passing it down to descendens, or writing it down or sumthing. Its nearly impossible. If u do mean superstitions tho, it still works the same way. You can't destroy what people believe in, so dont even try

It will never happen because people so strongly believe in religion that it has become that a believe and it is much harder to change someones believe in something.
As long as there is man there will be some form of religion in the world.

It will never happen. As soon as everyone but one gets to your position of 'lack of religious superstitions', another sucker will be born and you'll have to convert him too!

You'll have to replace it with something, and getting the world to accept it will take generations. Hitler tried something similar... start with the children.
