Yes, but not in a way that would cause me harm. If I thought I could shoo the thugs away with a stick or something, I would try that. If it looked like they would most likely tear me a new painful orifice, I would call 911.
Cops are trained to defend themselves and I am not. It would be inappropriate for me to attempt a futile rescue effort when it will only makes things worse, with 2 people getting jumped.
Would I join a crowd of onlookers in a rescue attempt, probably.
Plus, you gotta realise that when other cops arrive, everyone except the original cop is a potential bad guy to them and they will treat you that way, even injuring you if it looks like you are hurting somebody else, even if the somebody else you are hurting was one of the thugs who jumped the cop in the first place.

As much I have been harassed by cops in my past, I hate 'thugs' and have been harrassed by them much much more, and really just hate them more. Yes, I would help the cop. I would help anyone being jumped, and not just by thugs. I have been jumped a lot, also, and it's sickening how people just choose to ignore it, even when you cry out for help. Some peoplle just lack a lot of the good stuff, nowadays.
Let's see, the cop might be alone, as many of them often are. If they cannot reach their gun, they're screwed. I know I would appreciate it. And I'm a girl, but I had to fight my way through life, and I always carry a blade and knuckles, anyway, just in case.
It is weird that I would because I do not like them generally. But also feel bad for the honest ones that get a bad wrap because of the bad ones. They put their lives on the line, and I know hardly anyone else does; I respect that. The good ones.
And it's just the right thing to do, for me, anyway..

Yes I would call the cops or something....I wouldn't jump in b/c what would be the point of that????
Cops are people to with families who love them and all so why wouldn't you help them....they just do there job that is no reason to not like them....

Yes i would help, I think cops get a bad rap from to many people sure there are some corrupt cops but mostly just hard working people that put themselves in danger everyday for ungrateful people and get no respect.

i'm a good guy in almost everything. Even video games that give you the option to be bad I choose to be good. I dont see why people are so evil sometimes. But i'm guessing you can be raised bad by parents or your peers. I would help the cops and go down trying or suceed and get rewarded somehow either with karma or money $$$$

does it really matter what this "human being" does for a living?? why would you hesitate to help? where is the love of man kind in this world anymore???

id call for help, i wouldnt jump in the fight unless maybe it was only 1 person attacking the cop because if the thugs took out the cop they have his gun and then im dead

I'm pretty sure that me being a girl, wouldn't do much, and a cop carries a gun, SO I'd stay out of it, unless I knew the guys, then I might do something bout them "thugs" haha

yes ...well it depends if i'm putting myself in harms way..if so then no. if the cop gets hurt, the cop has disability for the rest of the cops life, me on the other hand, i might recieve an award and then off to burbs to finish my life.

Of course, it is a good thing to do, however the cops might not want you to help because they don't want you to get hurt.
