The Divine Comedy by Dante is written between 1308 and 1328.
This is the period of the transition between the Medieval and Renaissance.

The Italian Renaissance acutally begins around 1600.

Wikipedia's reference to this period is quoted below:

"Although the origins of a movement that was confined largely to the literate culture of intellectual endeavor and patronage can be traced to the earlier part of the 14th century, many aspects of Italian culture and society remained largely Medieval; the Renaissance did not come into full swing until the end of the century."

Thus to answer your question, THE DIVINE COMEDY is a late Medieval work that appears at the very beginnings of the transition between the Medieval and Renaissance.

Good Luck.

The "Divine Comedy" is widely considered the first great work of the Renaissance. That is not to say that there aren't many academics who consider it one of the last great medieval works. There's no exact line that says: "Before this date, it's medieval, afterwards... Renaissance."

The Renaissance got started in Florence, Italy, where Dante lived, around the mid-1300's. Although he died in 1321, his works were certainly very influential on later Renaissance artists of all stripes.
