I do the same thing. I always write too fast, my teachers always get on to me so now I have to try to take my time, but it gets frustrating writing so slowly!

Most of the time -- with exceptions! Late night - few drinks - write down what is perfectly legible, reads coherently and intelligently at the time --- wake up next morning and wonder what I was doing, thinking, saying ------ Russian shorthand, perhaps??

Yeah, it happens to me at times. Funny thing is, my Latin instructor, who is also a linguist, can read anybody's "chickenscratch", including a doctor's ... she says it comes from knowing the Latin roots of languages, and all that other good stuff ...

Well for about a day afterward I can b/c I still remember what I wrote. But after that I can't read it at all. That's because I use so much shorthand and I forget what each thing means.

I can always read what I wrote not matter how fast I wrote, but most of the time I can read what other people with bad handwriting write that other people can't.

Yeah, happens when I have to take notes while watching a film. Often I'm writing without looking at the paper, so it can get pretty messy.
