Neo-con comes from Neoconservative which was and is a political movement in the United States. It started in the 1960's. It can be likened to the 1950's New Conservatism movement and to the 1920's New Era campaign. Neoconservatism has come back to life through the Regan years and GWB's administration. People say the movement is dead but the ideology of neoconservatism is very much alive. In fact today neocon is usually used to describe a member of the Republican Party. One view that can be applied to what is happening today is they tend to believe in aggressive foreign policy and usually move forward despite what the rest of the world thinks. And they do it all in the name of homeland security. Even though there are more terrorists as a result of our actions in Iraq than there were on 9/11. Basically the Neocons that benefitted from this war are Cheney and his Halliburton cronies, the Bush's and Bin Laden's, and anyone else in his cabinet. Foreign and domestic business organizations alike are profitting greatly from this war.

Check it on Wikipedia. Essentially NeoCons are old Truman democrats woho moved out of the dems in the 60s and squeezed reagan-era realists out of the gOP (for awhile). Commentary magazine claims to be the home of the NeoCons and Bill Kristol of weekly Standard is another NeoCon.

Essentially, it had a lot of idealism in its foriegn policy much like liberal foreign policy idealists. But it was more aggressive. Check out stuff on PNAC. With Rumsfeld being tossed I'd say the NeoCons are out of the important levers. Condi isn't necessarily one she was educated in the old school of realism, but she did side with the NeoCons for quite awhile.

there is a survey out there some where I think its called "Are you a NeoCon?" based on your answers it would say if you are a neo, realist, liberal, or isolationist.

Have a nice day!

nicely, they have been stupid to declare that. As historical languages circulate, Weesha, wicsa, weschta, all of those have been developed variations of the Italian be conscious for "witch" interior the famous english version which truthfully meant healer or medicine guy or woman (you get the gist). Wicca is a very diverse writing that has no foundation interior the early variety be attentive to "Witch". specific that is comparable yet, no, the call become not taken from the "witches" who declare so, yet become made to incorporate the previous pagan ideals and faith healers of the ancients. i'm with you on that. they might stuff that "neo Wicca" crap. They act as though Wicca is an previous faith while in certainty that is not. specific, a number of that is doctrine and rits are comparable of the previous ideals, yet as all of us say "not all wiccans are witches and not all witches are wiccan". guy! i'm happy i'm an eclectic pagan. i don't could difficulty approximately that style of stuff. yet, i assume, there'll consistently be somebody desirous to make a stink over the slightest factor. best for you for letting it merely roll.

Neo-con is short for neo-Conservative. These are politicians who make noises like Conservatives, but really aren't. They are often also described as 'big-government conservatives.' They don't adhere to the conservative principles of small government and fiscal responsibility. They CLAIM to ahere to the conservative principles on sanctity of life and Christian values, but I've little evidence of that, either.

George Bush is one of them. Despite styling himself a conservative, he has grown the government and doubled the national debt. His buddies Cheney, Rove, Hastert, and DeLay are others.

I am a NeoCon.
*
I know your vituperative stems from either ignorance, hypocrisy, or sheer bloody-mindedness.
*
I forgive you.
*
Now I must get back to work.
*
That's how you know I'm a NeoCon: I'm well-spoken, I declare things for what they are, I deal with them, and then I get back to work.
