MTV stopped playing videos around 1989 or 1990.
VH1 stopped playing videos shortly thereafter.
MTV2 was supposed to pick up where MTV left off, but they don't play videos anymore, either.
VH1-Classic used to play videos, but lately they just have movies and I Love the 80's/90's recaps.

Whatever happened to the friggin' videos???

Yes, I remember those good ole days--everything has changed so that I don't even like to watch MTV or VHI-- I wonder if they have a dvd of the old videos?

Actually videos stopped playing around 1998 (around the time reality tv started to pop up everywhere)

videos are played late at night or early morning. I like the old show "MTV Blocks", where they show 3 videos of a certain artist or band in a row. NOT good for one hit wonders though.

VH1's videos have always been adult contemporary, but now it's r&bish (nothing wrong with that), when was the last time you saw a Celine Dion music video?

The only videos i see is on TRL, and they only play certain videos, and only 60% of the video itself, never the whole thing.

I don't watch it anymore, too much laguna beach and gauntlet stuff, which don't interest me.

I miss the old music videos.
"Video Killed The Radio Star" was the first video to be aired on MTV. Now it should be "MTV Killed The Video Star"

Yes. And the videos actually told a story, and not the same old 'band lip-synching to the song'. Those were the days.

I can't really remember what music videos are anymore...I think they used to come on music tv, but now I'm lost in a daze of crappy reality shows and pranks and people showing off their cribs...

They usually play between 1AM and 10AM but few are worth watching.
