It depends on what the actual limitations they place on the research. That is something you will want to definitely follow closely. I would also let my State Representative know my opinions regarding stem cell research. This is not fully understood science, but it has shown some potential in certain studies. As far as "cheating God", that all depends on the limitations controlling on the research.

"trying to cheat god"?

So, your god wants people to suffer, and research that could alleviate suffering -- since maximizing suffering is what your god wants -- is bad.

This is exactly why religious people should not be allowed to control the lives of humans -- they think that suffering is good and government should do everything it can to make sure there's as much of it as possible.

Whereas all of the humans understand that suffering sucks and that when we can help those suffering we should do so.

I suppose that, if your or your child's appendix acted up you'd prefer dieing, or letting your child die, because that's what you think your god wants, right?

I suppose you don't protect yourself or your child from germs, since that's cheating God, right?

You oppose pre-natal care, that saves the lives of mothers and helps them deliver healthy babies, right?

Glad the votes of the human beings, who value life, won over the likes of you.
