Find a good counselor and have them set you up with anger management training. Once you figure out how to control it then you can figure out why you get angry. Anger is a secondary emotion, so there is a good reason, not as you say. You just haven't figured out what that reason is yet.

I was angry for a long time as well, and I figured out why and now I have no reason to raise my voice. I have learned how to listen to my inner self and I know what my triggers are and the more important lesson is that if I act a certain way I will damage the relationships of the ones I love. GL

Try taking an anger management class, they can help you control your anger and that may solve some of your control issues. My father is the same way, and it turned out he was just really depressed. He got help and now he is better, but not all the way. Sorry I can't help more. Good luck!

Get help. Take anger management classes. Show her that you are ready to help yourself and your relationship. Prove it to her by actually doing it. I too get very angry and hurt my spouse. I am not brave enough to admit it like you and ask for advice. Let go of the control and give in to her. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

Look in the yellow pages for therapist that you can take anger control or anger management counselling from. Perhaps you might also want to investigate marriage or couples counselling also as it sounds to me as if your wife has been affected very much from this anger also.
