Yes, I noticed that too. Funny, I thought that the Democrats were going to help the common people and force the gas price below $1.50 a gallon.

Oh, right, wrong party. The Democrats allowed Exxon and Mobile to merge back together, and allowed Amoco and BP to merge!

Silly me, I thought the Republicans were the party of Big Business!

They have not gone up here yet, but I've read things in the news about 'tightening supply' and 'increased demand for heating fuel' and 'holiday travel.' These are phrases that usually precede a jump in the price at the pump.

As for 'predictable', I predicted it about a month ago here on Answers, as did hundreds of others.

Nice try. Gas prices started rising about a week before the election, but hey, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story, "libby"!

The oil companies control gas prices. The new Congress does not meet for the first time until January. Give it time and things will change hopefully for the better.

You knew it was going to happen. Just about everyone on here but the Republicans knew it and predicted it. Now we start paying the price for Tuesday's Democratic victory.

I predicted it from the start that they'd go back up after elections. Its not any one party's fault, both parties wanted to lower them to get voters out for their side

OPEC cut production about three weeks ago.

OPEC controls gas prices.

America is producing as much as the environmentalists will let them. Drilling is going on in my state now. New field found close by. Get independence from OPEC and it wont happen.

Yes, Democrats promised to get the prices back up.
No surprise.
