I have an Apple iBook clamshell for sale. How can I erase all information on the hard drive. I want to wipe it clean completely. Thanks!

use the operating disc and format it you pop the disc in and hold the c key down as it boots and follow the prompts

You may reinstall the OS however make sure that if you are reinstalling XP on the CPU that you have all drivers that are need such video, audio etc... because sometimes Xp does not have all the drivers for a system

Format the hard drive and re-install the operating system (at least thats what you do with a PC).

Well you can get that eraser program that let's you not only delete files but also encrypts them so that way those NSA guys can't figure out what it was you had on your harddrive.
