I lost my key and need to replace my ignition switch. It looks like it doesnt just unbolt or anything that easy. so whats the trick?

--Remove the handle bars - remove the cap & bolt.
--Remove the upper tripple clamp - loosen fork tube pinch bolts and center bolt.
--The ignition switch is bolted to the tripple clamp - bolts go up through the switch and are threaded into tripple clamp.
--I'm not sure about this model. The switch might have been installed with "break - off" bolts. When they're tightened, the heads break off so they cannot be removed. They have to be drilled out untill the switch comes off. Then the rest of the bolt can be removed with "vice grips" or a stud puller.
--Some models are installed using allen or torx head bolts. The bolts are staked to prevent them from turning (staked means - hit with a center punch at the edge of the bolt and the mounting surface. The metal gets musroomed). The stake mark has to be drilled out before the bolt can be removed.
