While all of the things you mentioned are reasons to distrust the Republicans, they're not the fundamental reason why I voted Democrat. The Republicans have ignored their obligations of oversight. They've hammered away at our civil liberties. They've been a rubber stamp for the White House agenda. They've mishandled our tax money and thrown the budget into a deficit. And have turned a blind eye to our troops overseas by standing by the president's 'stay the course' mentality in Iraq.
Our founding fathers set up the congress as a means of checks and balances, which have had none of in the last 6 years.
I voted Democrat, because I want to see this country move forward.

I belong to the Democratic Party, although in the past I have voted for Republicans. I would never, ever vote for these fools in power now. It's been an avalanche of scandal and bad judgement, and they treat the American public like we're a bunch of nimrods. Hatred is not a strong enough word to describe how I feel about these people. They day of reckoning has finally arrived. Hopefully, instead of blaming Clinton, or labeling the Dems cut and runners, or trying to distract the people with silly wedge issues like homos marrying (who cares) and abortion, the Republicans will step back and truly reflect on how far afield they have gone.

None of the above. I just got tired of nothing substantial getting done for our country. The incumbents were powerhungry slobs. Name one thing Congress has passed in 6 years that has benefitted the American people in a real and signifigant way.

very like privatizing each and every thing in u . s . for a income, your question ability that for the time of basic terms funds determines political result, very like a inventory dividend. Heads up. Politics is, grew to become into and continuously would be previous a simplistic "funds is the respond" answer.

Don't forget:
* the "stay the course, adapt new tactics" speech
* the lack of funding for pregnancy-prevention programs, unless they solely teach abstinence
* the underfunded No Child Left Behind Act
* the banning of military coffins with US flags being pictured on newspapers
I'm sure there's some more
