There are three things currently wrong with the Libertarian Party.

Neil Boortz reminded me of the first thing today on his radio show. If you don't follow the Libertarian Party Platform to the letter, you get trounced for it. I personally dislike the Libertarian Party's stand on the war on Islamic facism, illegal immigration and several other points.

The second point is, the Libertarian Party has yet to offer a candidate that can hold his own in a debate. The Libertarian candidate for governor here in Georgia, looked like an incompetent fool in the debates here. That also goes for the other candidates I managed to catch on TV before the election.

The third point is, The Libertarians have yet to sieze the moment and offer viable solutions to the problems created by the Democrats and the Republicans. They have the opportunity right now to step up to the plate and offer the American people a viable alternative to the current policies of the Democrats and the Republicans.

Another problem with the Libertarian Party is exposure. Their candidates simply do not advertise enough during a campaign. If it's a lack of money, the leaders in the party need to woo and win some big contributors to their cause. BECAUSE it's the big money candidates that win elections.

It's not america that needs to wake up... it's the Libertarian Party.

Offer the people what they want, and advertise it loudly, and the party will start to win elections.

As a Libertarian, I solely believe that we should push are selves up in the major parties. Unfortunately, it will be very difficult to do. Many people don't understand the Libertarian philosophy and many small (l)ibertarians are trying to change Libertarianism in order to get more votes. I am a (L)ibertarian and will not support that. I believe it will form corruption in are party. But I also would like other 3rd parties to gain that attention as well in order to rid the Republicans and Democrats who have clearly screwed this country apart.

Dickn2000 does make a point but this is the problem with what he stands for. The war on terror will NOT stop terrorism. Sure you might be able to hold back on the islamic facists but you also have to understand that there are terrorist both foreign and here at home. Nazi terrorism, ecoterrorism, etc. If we try stoping terrorism we will be at it for decades. It won't stop.
Second, many Libertarians including myself refuse to open borders until we can abolish welfare, to ensure that there will be a work force. To many Republicans believe that Mexicans are the reason for job losses. This is not true. It's because of the Democrats who have restricted the economy that is causing many jobs to be lost. Not only that but major Corporations have begin to move to other foreign lands in order to receive a cheap work force causing hundreds to lose their jobs. This is the reason majority of jobs are lost not the Mexicans or illegals.

Oh yeah i forgot one more thing minimal wage laws. This is another reason why companies hire illegals. Minimal wage laws are causing business owners to either fire employees or force price on their products to go up. So what are they going to do? Hire illegals that are willing to work for less money. This is also the reason small businesses don't make it and Coporations are taking over. I guess the Democrats didn't notice this flaw did they?

I can't really say that I would necessarily vote Libertarian...while they have some good ideas, I think others are kind of crazy, but I respect those ideas.

However, I completely agree that we should consider third-party candidates (and I voted for third party candidates three times in this election)! I am so tired of the useless battles between Democrats and Republicans and would like to see some change in this nation. I would also like to see the elimination of the electoral college. Sadly, I don't think many people will follow along unless our country goes into complete disarray and reform is absolutely necessary and unavoidable.

I would love to vote for someone other than a republican or a democrat but I feel I would be wasting my vote. The republicans had to go and the only way to insure that was voting Democrat because the libertarians, independents, etc. didn't have a chance in most cases.

Yup, while you're a Libertarian you're able to in all possibility be dropping your vote on the Libertarian candidate in case you prefer to truly be Libertarian. or vote for Ron Paul... incredibly you are able to not vote for Democrats or Republicans... Democrats want government involvement in with the intention that individuals have elementary wellbeing care, housing etc. and Republicans want government involvement in who i could have intercourse with/be married to, what drugs i will take, whether my lady buddy could have an abortion, whether i might nicely be unfastened to do many things with out being forced to sign in and supply out advice to the government with the help of utilising the Patriot Act/being snooped on with the help of neocon spies that Bush has snooping on us good now... if I have been a Libertarian with some experience, i might make confident that the Republican fascists we've in ability at the instant do not proceed.

Someday people may learn that voting for either major party is voting for business as usual. I see so many people saying things like "They didn't have a chance so I didn't vote for them." Of course they didn't have a chance because you didn't vote for them. Vote for your freedom by voting the lying, thieving democrats and republicans out of office. Mickey mouse would make a better president, senator or congressman than what we are offered by the major parties.

cause only a handful of individuals will ever vote for a third party. If you can convince a large amount of people to vote Libertarian then sure, but until that day, I'll just choose the lesser of two evils.

When Libertarians start putting viable candidates up. There were only a few here in AZ, the rest were moon bats that seemed to have no connection to reality.

Thumbs up.

Republicans want to govern with their set of rules.
Democrats want to govern with another a set of rules.
Libertarians want to restore freedom.

When people understand what freedom really means, that's when they become a Libertarian.

Hopefully eventually.

But the current choice is between organized and scary, versus disorganized and mostly harmless.
