seriously, in the UK, Bush is a complete laughing stock- nearly every comedy programme on tv makes fun of the complete hopeless case of your president.
Do you realise?
Do you even care?
If you do, then why did you vote him in, back in the presidential elections?

Everyone thinks that your president is stupid and idiotic.
Do you even know the name of the British Prime Minister?
Or what party he stands for?
Or the name of his opposition?

In the last presedential elections, nearly everyone was praying tht Bush would come out of power, and now, we are practically dancing in the streets that at least he doesnt have complete control.

I'm sure loads of americans will now get extremely angry- please do, i'm interested.

basically, what you're saying is that America is so big and powerful that you don't have to care what other countries may even think, cos you know that you're great.
You repeat the fact that 'the americans helped us in the war...what are we trying to do right now in Iraq? We're grateful, we thanked you, move on. Did you ever stop to think, or do you even know about the hundreds of thousands of people who marched against going to war with Iraq, we aren't too keen on Tony here in London, but at least he has a few instead of no brain cells and can actually pronounce nuclear and pu a sentence together.
btw, what has this go to do with the monarchy?

I feel everyone is frustrated and concerned over issues that involve the Middle Eastern dilemma. But I also feel that these issues should be dealt with, urgently. The anger some express, is warranted, and is due to the fear of the anger that is not expressed, but is lying in wait to be expressed, by some, and is more prevalent in your backyard, than ours. But it is also my opinion that this post, was meant to convey fear. Both Americans and British have both, historically, always enjoyed comedy, and it is part of our (when allowed) peaceful, good-natured cultures. But also, historically, when we get continually stepped upon, we both tend to get tired and STOMP VERY HARD BACK, so as to continue with our way of culture. I guess what I am trying to say is, that in life, and in this post, that Americans and British are more OPEN as to WHO we really are, and what are intentions are. I hope this helps you understand the differences between anger, fear and tiredness. And, since I know us Brits and Yanks are considered pretty lacking in awareness, could you please have a sense of humor, and post for me if you are aware of what I am trying to say?-please do, I'm interested.

Kirsty S. You are a sweetheart,so please don't worry. When you put your head on your pillow tonight, think "Everything will be okay" and KNOW this!!!

I'm an American and I do realize. It's not just the UK, it's the rest of the world. I also know that Tony Blair damn near ruined his political career by standing with Bush on the Iraq war. (no, I don't know his party or opposition).

I voted against Bush in the last election. I'm out there dancing in the streets with you at the outcome of this election. Obviously at least a little more than half of America feels the same way. Don't know what to say about the rest of them!

Bush hasn't been singled out. Every single American president has been the brunt of dry English humor. It's their way of poking fun at Americans. After all, the English have been holding a grudge since 1776.

Do you realize Americans don't care what the British think about anything?

***********

I personally think Tony Blair is an annoying little troll who plagiarized Bill Clinton's speeches to get his party elected to power. I think the Labor (Labour as you call it) Party is a front for Socialism, and the UK would be much better off under the Tories.

I also think the only reason why Blair is perceived as successful is because of the timing of his tenure as Prime Minister. The only reason why the British economy is strong is because the economic reforms done by Margaret Thatcher have started paying dividends.

But I am sure you do not care because I am not British.

Do Americans actually care what the UK thinks about Bush or us in general? The answer is no. I'd say most Americans probably don't even know what UK stands for much less find it on a map. Americans are very self centered and that suits thier purposes just fine. Americans tend to rally around whatever it is that people in other countries don't like about America. That's just our nature. No one in another country is going to tell us who to like or not like, who to vote for or not vote for. When you are an American you don't have to worry about what others think. That's just the way it is.

Yes we do.

Those of us who travel to other countries get an earful from locals about Bush's U.S. policy.

Not that we care much. It's like asking an Englishman if he realizes what Americans think of Tony Blair or the Queen.

And why should the Americans care what the Brits think? If it hadn't been for the Americans, my relatives over there would all be goose stepping in front of Buckingham Palace an down the Champs Elysees.

They make fun of all politicians over here, so don't think you're such hot stuff. Do we care? Not really. We won the war for our Independence from England long ago. Who is the British Prime Minister - Tony Blair. What party? Don't know and don't care. You tend to your knitting, m'dear and we shall tend to ours.

Your ignorance is thick. To answer your question, no, we do not care.

The UK is being invaded by a legion of Muslims who are now telling the average Brit what to do and how to do it. You're all being dominated, and your only response is pious politically correct absurdities, which include denying your own history, religion, traditions, and language.

I'd say the Brits have ALOT to worry about, and Bush is the least of their concerns.

To paraphrase Muse, are you folks still mad about that 1776 disagreement we had?

Like others have said, Americans don't care about the UK. Sorry. Our president is, however, an idiot, but Tony Blair is just the puppet of an idiot US president, so which is worse?

Oh, and your comedy is pretty bad, so I wouldn't point to your comedy programs too much if I were you.
