I thought the first series was funny... But she's totally lost it! Its ridiculously un-funny!

It is pretty much just crude character acting with some good prosthetics.
Strip away the latex and wigs and you have a competent actor delivering lines on cue.
Format stolen from The Fast Show (heavy repetition of catch-phrases) and just like Little Britain, it's funny ONCE.
BBC has bombarded radio and TV with trailers, trying desperately hard to make it a cult or compulsive viewing and it is neither.
It IS a form of comedy.
The not funny kind.

I'll never understand why people find catchphrases funny.
The fast show and little britain are also examples of the catchprase comedy phenomenon.
They basically generate an extremely contrived situation, just so they can trundle out teh same old catchphrase as they did last week, masquerading as a punchline.

That catchphrase comedy is rubbish, let's face it. The best bits of the Fast Show were the bits without the catchphrases, or the ones that weren't overdone. As much as I loathe Ben Elton, you've got to admit Blackadder was funny AND clever, and there weren't many catchphrases in that.....

When she made this series. The only funny things in this series are the old characters and they are becoming very much the same.

Sketch shows that rely on catchphrases usually stop being funny after the first series. After that it becomes boring.
