Look for the good things in life. You will see a lot of bad, but you already know that. Look for the positives. They are harder to find and yet easy to uncover.
You will soon find yourself so busy finding good things that you will not even notice all the negatives.
One time I was racing through New York City to get to my train home. I had barely enough time to get there going very fast, but I was on the phone with my wife and I noticed a restaurant that I wanted to try. Even though I had so little time and perhaps should not have been looking around or on the phone, I looked for the good things and I enjoyed them. I caught the train, had a great conversation with my wife including telling her about the restaurant and noticed a bread shop along the way.
We never made it to the restaurant because it went out of business a year later, but looking for the positives we found a couple of new great restaurants.

its easy..
the only way u get affected by the negativityis if u think about it.. your in control.. dont worry about it.. its obviously someone elses problem.. why should u care.. Just look at what makes u happy and positive in ur life.. and think about that.. its what makes u happy not upset or sad.. dont let the negativity bring u down in life.. u dont kno when life is goin to end.. take advantage of it

You take the good with the bad. I'm not saying take lemons and make lemonade but you have to have the emotional, ups and downs. No one can sustain a healthy existence in monotone. You have to take the negativity and make it a learning process, add it to your arsenal of intellect. Use it to maybe help someone someday, everything we experience is a tool to help with another obsiticle in our lives. In short you have to take the good with the bad.

Don't immerse yourself in it. Leave the conversation, turn of the radio, change the station, leave the movie, whatever. No one is forcing you to be around negativity. When you get away from it, do something positive.
