Pitching is the only thing we really need,I hope they made a really good bid on this Matsuzaka!! I heard Andy Pettite Had dinner with Joe Torre Last night,And i read in todays paper,he said if he pitches next yr he wants to come back to the yankees,Roger Clemens if he plays next yr,WILL FINISH HIS CAREER IN BOSTON!! From what i read in todays paper If we don't get Matsuzaka,We'll go after Zito,And i belive Pettite is going to come back.Don't forget we have this Kid Phil Huges,Whos also going to be a GREAT PITCHER! And We'll get something for Sheffield
4 clubs called about him,But Cashman wants to trade him to an NL Team,,Because he's pissed, and he can hurt us in the long run if we trade him to an AL Team,

Its not about spending the most money, rather the best money.

Some on mentioned the Florida Marlins, great example

Just because you have a team of stars, does not mean you have a star team, or a good team at that.
The yankees post season runs in recent years are good examples of that.

There are other teams out there with money but money is not the only factor.

Zito and Schmidt are not going to NY, they do not want to. Money will not change this, they can get what they want, where they want on on the West coast

Regardless of who has the most to spend, it's impossible to say who will get Matsuzaka. The Yankees are one of several teams to have bid on his services (along with the Mets, Red Sox, and others), but the bids were not shared with each other but instead were given directly to Bud Selig.

With the increased revenues allowing for smaller market clubs to get increased revenue sharing money, there was even talk of the Royals placing a bid on his services. So, the team with the most money won't necessarily be the highest bidder.

Regardless on how much money the Yankees have to spend they need to sign someone who will get them to win the world series again!! For the past few seasons they have obtained quality players only to choke in the playoffs!! It has been proven that teams can win without having the most money to spend(Florida comes to mind). Hopefully the sign the right players to get another title soon!

It doesnt matter how much they'll pay him, they have to win the bid.

the yankees will buy all the free agents (even if they dont need them) just so no one else will get them.
