I have had lots of personal tragedies to happen in my life that left me pretty down hearted. Most of these things I have gotten over, and gotten the victory over. So I thought that maybe writing a book would be therapy for me plus maybe I could help someone in the process. I have been thinking about writing a book for many years, and I feel that maybe I had better get started if its ever meant to be. Only serious answers please. Thank You.

Melvin Powers at "Wilshire Book Company",North Hollywood,
California ( think he moved a little .. ) . He answers your "emails".

Not only writes and "publishes" his own books,songs,etc..Mel
loves to talk "books". He is a millionaire publisher and answers
my questions..free. He has books and cassette course on
self-publishing..so who needs a publisher...but "hey,Melvin is
a publisher. Write your book...and let Mel see a manuscript.

Who knows..you could be published. He can answer your
questions..if your book needs changes, the works...ask him!
Keep asking. Listen, he really is a nice guy. You can telephone
him if you insist...or speak to his personally trained staff people.
Now, you have your own "people" to talk books with..enjoy! And
I'm chatty too,so if you have a second email me.

Well firsty you need a begining a middle and an end, start making notes, collate the notes into some kind of order. Then you need a "context" as the context will motivate you and prevent writers block, context being "to enhance the quality of people lives through trajedy" for example. For me and the few i've had, a process that assisted me was to sit down and write them a letter, telling them all the things i didnt like about them and all the things i did, and then all the things i never said. This leaves one in a condtion of completion and an enourmous weight lifts off ones back once completed. Hope this assists even though that process can be upsetting its worth the effort.

Of course you'll also need a good title like "Chicken soup for the soul" that sold millions

Good luck with the book !

There is not a ideal procedure. Yes, the exceptional factor you'll do is "dabble" and write a few experiences. Borrowing anyone else's man or woman and writing approximately different matters which take place to them? That's referred to as fanfiction. Like you mentioned, it are not able to be released, however it is a flawlessly well strategy to train writing. Go for it. I've written anything over part one million phrases of fanfic and could not even inform you what the umbrella procedure or snowflake procedure are :) Do what works for you.

Good idea, and I hope it helps. First you'll have to free hand it( writing down everything that comes to mind about what you want to write, no matter what it is, no matter how stupid you may think it is). Next step is to editout all that will make it run on, and that don't go with what you want to say. Now you are to the part when you proof read what you've wrote, then put it down for a day, and proof it again, then edit it again. Go through the last two steps over and over again until you can't edit anymore, and it says what you want it to. Good luck

Like you my life has had more downs than ups and I am sure I am not alone and would like to document it. I would chop your life up into 5 year sections and write down everything that happened briefly so that when you come to expand into a book you will have a steady flow of notes.
The hardest thing is gonna be finding someone to publish it. Try and get someone who had a big impact on your life to read the finished book and write a foreward for you.

Good luck....... I hope it all works out for you.

Start by writing all the events you wish to include in your memoir. After you've created the list, you can go back to the beginning and elaborate on them and create a full-length story, which you can continue reviewing and editing as needed. Good luck.

I know this sounds like a flippant answer, but its not.

Just start writing!

You can make it available on-line in blog form, through a web page, or consider making it available in book form through some of the on-demand print shops like cafepress. If you are trying to make it a commercial success you will need to sign on with a publisher/publicist. Good luck.

Treat your life's events as chapters and start writing of the first event that comes to mind. You can always re-number them to fit in chronological order.

Try to avoid the excessive use of "I's" in your first-person narration by arranging your sentences differently. Edit them often and be most particular with your grammar and spelling.

I wish you success.

Just start writing. Writing is the easy part, getting it published is the tough almost impossible part.

Get a pencil. Start writing. Talk is cheap, until you've actually written something down, we can't help you.
