I was recommended to use this with my first child. I was surprized the Dr told me about it . It sure did work . I took it at 5 pm the night B4 and had baby the next day by 1 pm . They did say it wouldnt work unless you are already contracting and ready to go . The down side is it is a laxitive. Didnt like that to much so decided to skip out my second child on taking it .

I got it from a chemist, but it was very hard to find, or in the health section of your supermarket.
I tried it on several different occasions and yes it gave me contractions and also put me in false labour 3 times with very painful contractions and cramps......I was sure it was gonna work for me but it didn't.
I didn't even get the runs like everyone says you do, and If you can get it down and haven't got a weak tummy, you wont puke either.
So I think it is true when they say that nothing will work until your body is ready anyway.
If my body had have been ready I think it would definately have worked though.
Good luck and hope it works for you!!!

It doesn't. It just makes you want to poop and/or throw up, and that pooping feeling is supposedly how it helps move the baby down...don't do it. If you think you're miserable waiting out the last few days of your pregnancy would you rather be miserable and having a diarrhea experience? No thanks!
Let nature take its course, walk and walk and have sex if you're up for it, and see what happens. Your baby will be here before you know it! You lasted this long, you can do it a few more days!
Good luck, mommy!

It's an old belief that it will bring on labor due to peristalsis being sped up (the contracting and releasing of your digestive tract).
Unfortunately, it won't encourage labor contractions the same way. We used to think that peristalsis was on the same level as uterine contractions.
You will just suffer from severe diarrhea and possibly some more noticeable braxton hicks contractions.

take Flax seed oil instead.............. its got all the Omega 3 minerals that are essential for you.Bottom Line: Flaxseed oil is heart-healthy because it contains alpha-linolenic acid. Flaxseed itself (ground or whole) also contains lignans, which may have antioxidant actions and may help protect against certain cancers, though this is far from certain. buy it at Trader Joes

Castor oil for what? If you need to throw something up, it's good. You can get it at any pharmacy.

It's not a good idea. It usually does not work and you end up just getting violently ill.
