Since everybody that answered felt need to answer this despite the fact that it had been already answered, I'm gonna answer it too. PIM stands for penalties (in) minutes, but it's not like anybody's ever been given an hour long penalty. Ok, so you can get a game misconduct, which is an hour. Hey, does anyone know if that adds 60 minutes to your PIM total? Now there's a question for ya!

Penalty in minutes as everyone else stated.

To answer the question about the game misconduct; a player is assesed 10 PIM for the game misconduct itself and an additional 5 or 10 minutes from either the major or misconduct (respectively) penalty that led to the ejection.
