I don't subscribe to such a thought. If you're still alive, you can still do it. Regret and self pity is far too easy to fall into, and where will it get you? I always wanted to play in a band. I didn't start until I was 46. I'm 57 now and still doing it. It may sound trivial to some, but I don't care. Unless your body, and or mind has headed south, regret is a cheesy cop out. And I don't mean a situation like yours.Karin.

I have many regrets, and I think if people were truly honest with themselves they would have many regrets as well. One of those is I wish I would have studied abroad in college. It just seemed like the time was never right and then all of a sudden I was done.

I wish I had spent more time with my younger brother, who died suddenly and unexpectedly of a massive heart attack at the age of 39. It really is true that none of us knows how much time we or someone we love has left on earth. I wish I had understood that on a gut level before my brother died. Yeah, everyone pays lip service to this, but until you've lost someone and find that you your regrets count for nothing-- they're gone, and there isn't a thing you can do about it-- you really can't understand.

Starting an IRA when I was first able to do so. My retirement plan has been behind-schedule all along, and I regret not having begun contributions as soon as the "IRA" was invented, instead of waiting until I was older.

I wish I had dated a girl I knew in high school. I tried to talk to her from time to time but we never seemed to click, it was always awkward. She has become the template other women are compared to.

Looking back, I can't say that I would change a thing. There were mistakes made but everything worked out in the end...
