In any two flushes, assuming neither is a straight flush, the flush with the highest card wins. If the highest card (or cards) are community cards, the flush with the highest card that is NOT a community card wins. In your example, the flush with ace-deuce beats the flush with king-three.

One easy way to remember is that the top five cards play. In your example you have the Ace high flush. Your opponent had a king high flush. The top five cards in making this flush play and win which would be the Ace high flush, which beats a king high flush. I hope this helps.

The only card that matters is the highest, If you both have the highest card (community card) then the player with the highest hole card wins!
