Can the president veto the repeal?

A statute is repealed by passage of a succeeding statute that expressly repeals the earlier statute.

Many state statutes & some Federal ones have "sunset" provisions, that provide they automatically expire after a certain period.

Law's aren't really repealed the way most people think of the process.

What happens is that a new law is passed which either overrides the earlier law, or changes the earlier law, or voids the earlier law.

And that new law goes through the same process as any other law, including passing in both chambers, and not being vetoed.
