I know in all context that it depends on ones own perspective of what is interesting in a conversation, but its hard to find someone to have an intelligent conversation with. It's just a bunch of generic talk with it ending up saying something cliche'. The younger the generation the worse it is too. At work it's mainly gossip about who's dating who and if someone liked a movie the other night cannot even explain the simple synopsis.

Look, it's just people trying to be polite and feeling the need to fill any awkward silences with talk. I'm sure they don't actually think what they're saying is mindblowingly awesome, and i'm sure they don't assume you think so either. Mindblowing conversation is what friends are for, not colleuges.

My workplace is very diverse, so it is interesting to talk with others, especially those whose race and religion are different from mine. It helps put things into perspective and teaches tolerance and respect. On the flip side....sometimes all I hear is sports talk and the catty gossip. I think it's 50/50 as far as the uninteresting conversations go.
