I've lived in Spain for 34 years... in all these years I've visited about two thirds of the country, and I still find it difficult to pick a "favourite" city... There are so many beautiful cities all over Spain... Barcelona is magnificent, Madrid is majestic, Granada is marvelous. Santiago de Compostela, Toledo, Aranjuez, Salamanca, Sevilla, all towns filled with historic beauty, museums, monuments, lovely streets and friendly people.... And the food is interesting and delicious all over the country...
If I had to pick one, perhaps it would be Barcelona, I enjoy visiting there enormously...followed by Madrid in a close second...
I live in Malaga myself, which is at the southern end of the country, it's a privileged area, we have the best climate in Europe, beautiful coastlines and beaches, and it's a strategic point to visit the other andalusian cities such as Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba! Great place to be!
:-)

Granada. I did my study abroad there and it is such a diverse town. It has the Moorish influence and all the beautiful artwork, mixed with the traditional Spanish culture. The Alhambra is truly magnificent. It will always be like another home to me.
