NO! DON'T DO IT! If your alien knows what an eggplant is, then it can only mean that it is from the planet Zeaowef, where they derive all of their strength from purple vegetables. Eggplant to these creatures has the same effect as spinach has on Popeye. Your cute little pet will quickly grow to twelve times its normal size and go on a rampage, destroying everything within eight miles. Then, every eggplant that your pet eats after the first one will increase its strength (and consequently the area that it destroys) exponentially. If you don't want to be responsible for the destruction of civilization as we know it, then no, you should not give your alien an eggplant, for doing so can only end in tragedy.

Not until you torture him into telling you when he will attempt to take over the human race. Then after wards leave him there to die then eat the eggplant.
