I'm very fair skinned, very dark haired, with big greenish hazel eyes. i always see cute make up ideas in magazines for my specific "look" however, i have very big, very exposed eyelids and so putting on funky purples and blues just make me look like a clown. a friend of mine suggested just using those colors as a thin eyeliner, but i still want to be able to put on eyeshadows and not have all this empty exposed skin on my eyes. soooo, any suggestions as to how i can make my eyes look pretty without making them look too dramatic and drag queeny?

liquid eye liner above the eye about the same length as ur eye lashes. then use dark to light eye shadow. start at the lashes and go lighter up. that may work.
i don't know if that really explains it the way i mean it, but i hope it helps.

well your freind was right about the blues and purples they make the eyelid pop try wearing a soft pink or a really light brown i fair skined and that is what color i wear i also have red hair so i no a lot about fair skin tones because i have tried every thing in the world and those are the only colors that i can wear without making me look like a zombie and the blues also make you look a lot whiter

try something thats more an eye shimmer than a powder, lighter colors like golds and even funkier colors if they are applied lightly.
You can make any color really pop and bring out your eye if you dip the brush you use to apply the shimmer eye shadow to your eye in water first before you put the shimmer on it so it becomes a consistency of a kind of paint. Its amazing how well it turns out. and you can dilute it more if its too much. Good Luck!

empty exposed skin on your eyes!!! LMFAO that's just hilarious. Just use the purples and greens etc as liners both under your bottom lashes and over your top lashes, then fill all the empty exposed skin "hehe" in with a light to medium brown eyeshadow. Darker brown in the crease and lighter brown just under the brows. hehe you funny

I would try a light brown..almost tannish color with a brown eyeliner. Black will make your eyes look even bigger...brown makes your eyes look more wide awake (but not too dramatic as the black does). Dont go with the purple or blue's as you said.

Use naturals that are close to your skin tone, they'll make your eyes stand out-in a good way. If you really want color, stick to sheer colors. They won't go on so dark that they look clown-like.

Use darker shades of eye shadow preferablly brown, gray, black etc..., dark colors will reduce the size of your eye lids same with clothes. If you wear a black shirt it will minimize the appearance of fat, so you will appear more fit. Colors are a girls best friend they bring off some of the greatest illusions.

put a thick, dark liner on your top lid (along the lash line). start out kinda thick and make the line thinner as you near your inner corners of your eye. use a dark liner on ur bottom lashes too. whatever color you'd like to use, it shoudl look great as this lining trick tends to really change around the wideness

Try using a nude/silvery color on them, its not too much but super classy. I would avoid blues, and purples, as they tend to make the eyes look larger. Try something natural colored! Dont be afraid to take a couple minutes to swipe something on!

use lighter makeup. don't try to use the "funky" colors, because it really will make you look like a clown. a really nice look for clubing or parties, so you don't think you don't look good, is the smoke eyes look. google it. it's really easy to do, and it's perfect for any occasion or event.
